This beautiful life is a journey of becoming. My story, as is yours, is still unfolding. These current chapters are being written through my experiences as a contemplative spiritual practitioner, minister, and teacher. Through each spiraling season the hardships, joys, and all the ordinary days in between offer continuous opportunities for discovery.
After receiving an undergraduate degree in Biology from Milligan University, I went on to attain a Master’s degree in Education. As a licensed teacher, I taught in public schools across rural, inner city, and suburban communities.
When I was in the early years of motherhood I discovered the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason. I was in awe of her deep knowledge, understanding, and experience of educating the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. This life giving education was what I knew in my soul to be the education I wanted to offer my children. And so, I began the journey into homeschooling. Since those early days, I have spent years studying Miss Mason's works and applying her methods for a living education.
In my desire to share the gift of a Charlotte Mason education, I’ve had the privilege of leading a CM co-op and book group, co-founding the Charlotte Mason Educational Retreat and providing offerings here at A Sacred Education.
In my work as Minister of Children’s Formation, I have the wonderful opportunity of integrating Charlotte Mason into the fabric of spiritual formation in my local parish.
I am continually amazed by and honored to be a companion of children and their parents who inspire awe and wonder of the Divine through a living education.
